The Hidden Oracle at the British Museum, Part 2: Fortune Telling & Esoteric Decks

  • British Museum Great Russell Street London, England United Kingdom (map)

Spend the day with Bel Senlle and James Jude for an exclusive, hands-on look at some of the most enigmatic oracle and fortune-telling decks in the archives of The British Museum.

Buried deep in the vaults of the venerable BM is a treasure trove of oracular history’s forgotten past, strange and beautiful cards that are impossible to ignore—but what was their impact on the transition from game play to the art of reading cards?

This second part of the series focuses on a selection of historically significant fortune-telling and early oracle decks that stand at the threshold of divination’s emergence into the mainstream of European society.

This is a rare opportunity to go where few have gone before! Join us for an in-depth look at some of these one-of-kind decks through historical context and the symbology of visual language.

Due to the intimate nature of this study group, capacity is strictly limited to 8 participants.

Tickets: £120 per session or £200 for series package (a £40 discount)
