JAMES JUDE of James Jude Tarot is a clairsentient/clairaudient Tarot reader whose empathic insight enables him to connect with the cards and with his clients in a sincere and meaningful way.  His approach to Tarot is a hybrid of scholarship, intuition, and spiritual connectedness.

James is an in-house reader at TarotArts in South Pasadena where he also serves as event programmer, moderator, workshop facilitator, deck scout and teacher.  James is also a regular reader and has hosted workshops at The Philosophical Research Society (PRS) in Los Feliz.

James received his Tarot and Level 1 Reiki certifications from 22 Teachings School of Hermetic Science and Magical Arts in Los Angeles.  He is in the process of completing his Associate Certified Coach (ACC) training as a member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF), and is also studying to become an International Association of Coaches, Therapists & Mentors (IACTM) certified Jungian coach.  James holds a BA in Literature & Philosophy from Loyola Marymount University and an MFA/MPW in Professional Writing from the University of Southern California.

In 2025, James founded the Los Angeles Festival of Tarot, which brings Tarot luminaries from around the globe together at PRS and TarotArts for a weekend celebrating the divinatory arts through presentations, workshops, performances, rituals, music, mixers, readings and exhibitions of rare decks and original Tarot art.

James is the host of Tarot Talk Show, an online talk show presented by Laetitia Barbier, in which he pulls cards from the Tarot to guide his conversations with such guests as Camelia Elias, Lezley Saar, Suzanne Treister, Lorriane Anderson, Gergely Bagameri, Maria Minnis, Chris Leech, Thea Wirsching, Vivi Henriette, Bel Senlle, Mark Rogers, Melinda Lee Holm, Sanyu Estelle, Casey Zabala, Bruce Colville, Andrea Aste and Zhena Muzyka.

His writing has been featured in The Discombobulator and The Cup, a zine published in collaboration with The Rebis for the 2026 L.A. Festival of Tarot.  His work will also be included in the upcoming "The Moon" issue of the The Rebis and on his Substack, Auguries Unfolding.

In the fall of 2026, James and Bel Senlle will be co-facilitating Crossing Destinies: Collective Storytelling through Fragments of Imagination, a workshop at The College of Psychic Studies in London, as well as an exclusive, on-site class focused on the most enigmatic Tarot decks in the collection of the Department of Prints and Drawings at the British Museum.
