WELCOME TO THE SOUTHWESTERN BELLOWS
The Southwestern Bellows is a fantasy world with magic, monsters, adventure, tragedy, royalty, and…...nightmare-harvesting aliens that worship cactuses and eat gold. It is a breakaway human civilization started on another terraformed world by the Zeta Reticulan Grays. In the 1850s, human pioneers and other people from planet Earth were brought to this new planet to repopulate its lands … the reason why remains a mystery, although some believe it is an experiment that involves dreaming and nightmares.
Mark Rogers is a self-taught artist whose work is a mash-up of folk art, medieval painting, and fairy tale illustration. Obsessed with fantasy, and tales of the supernatural, Rogers creates narrative-driven paintings populated by fictional characters that inhabit his spooky and sometimes humorous oil paintings.
In 2025, Rogers published The Southwestern Bellows, vol. 1, a collection of illustrated short stories of esoteric Alien lore and an accounting of events that transpired in a faraway land: a human breakaway civilization called the Southwestern Bellows.
His work has been shown in exhibitions across the United States and has been sold worldwide. He lives and works in an old Victorian house in Fort Wayne, Indiana with his girlfriend and fellow painter-in-crime, Erica Peebus.
