Tarot Talk Show - Gergely Bagameri

Saturday, June 14, 2025

  • 11:00 AM 12:00 PM

In this episode of Tarot Talk Show, James Ferrera welcomes guest Gergely Bagameri, creator of the unique and original Hidden Tales Tarot, RWSxTdM, Tarocchi ‘23, Midnight Deck and exquisite reproductions of the classic Jaques Vievil, Tarot de Paris and Tarocchino Milanese decks.

Bagameri is a Budapest-based card maker, illustrator and tarot reader, who has been studying and actively using cards for 7 years. He likes working with the decks he illustrates the most, because he knows all their lines intimately.

Bagameri sees Tarot as providing support in decision making, enabling someone to imagine themselves in different situations and helping them look deeper into themselves when examining the past and the present through the translation of pictures into words. He sees himself as an interpreter, who translates the language of the cards and explains them to the questioner. As the cards become sentences, the seeker confronts their fears, desires and discovers where to go next.

His original decks - the Midnight deck, a traditional Marseille tarot with fresh colors, strong lines and new faces; the RWSxTdM, a cheeky and grotesque pip card version of the well-known Rider Waite deck; the Tarocchi ‘23 and the latest Hidden Tales Tarot - are decks based on historical Italian cards, specifically designed to support storytelling. In addition, Bagameri has digitally restored some of the classics that he loves: Jacques Vieville's tarot, the Tarocchino Milanese and the Anonymous Paris Tarot, as well as a lesser-known poker card deck, the New Figures, illustrated by Adolf Iosifovich Charlemagne.
